Practimpads

“Fantastic timpani practice pads by insoundmallets. The right weight, natural timpani bounce, noiseless, look really beautiful and very good quality.”

Timpanist, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam

The Original

The Original is a portable and light timpani pad with a soft surface which produces natural rebounds just like real timpani.

The Blacktimpad

The Blacktimpad was launched as a limited edition pad, however, it quickly became a huge hit and is now one of our main products. This pad is lighter and smaller than The Original Practimpad, weighing only 0.5Kg with a 200mm diameter and 185mm diameter playing surface.

The base is made from polyethylene, manufactured in one piece so its finish is perfectly straight. The pad is made with our personal and distinctive black rubber that creates a very similar rebound to a 23 inch timpani.

Unlike the original practimpad, the Blacktimpad can not be mounted on a cymbal stand and is best suited for playing on flat surfaces or on snare drum stands.

The Eyepad

Perfect for timpanists who are wanting to set up multiple pads and practice transitioning around the drums, the Eyepad is an eye shaped practimpad that is designed for those who are looking for a practice pad with a bigger surface area.

The bigger dimensions of the Eyepad are closer to the real dimensions of timpani, giving a more authentic experience to your practice. The dimensions of the Eyepad measure as 295mm (length) x 143mm (width) x 30mm (depth). The pad has an approximate playing surface of 280x112mm, and weighs 900 grams (including the adaptor).

The Eyepad is also great for timpanist who prefer to play with a more ‘parallel’ technique in the arms (as opposed to angled), as there is more surface area to play on.

The Combipad

Our most versatile practimpad yet. It has been designed with two different playing areas to offer a broad spectrum of opportunities for your practice. One side is made from virgin rubber for snare drum practice and the other is made from our very own black rubber for timpani practice. The Combipad measures 200mm in diameter and 25mm in height. Both playing surfaces measure 185mm in diameter, weighing in at 1kg. There is no other product like this one on the market; designed to be carried easily in luggage, the Combipad enables practice on the move.

This pad is perfect for those instances where you might be playing both timpani and percussion (at an audition or performance) and don’t want to bring two pads to warm up on, so instead you bring the Combipad.

The Combipad Black Edition

All the goodness of the Combipad, in a black edition.

The Slimpad

This pad is a variation of the popular Combipad model. Featuring a double-sided pad with a lightweight aluminium frame. Perfect for those instances where you might be playing both timpani and percussion (at an audition or performance) and don’t want to bring two pads to warm up on, so instead you bring the Slimpad.

One side is made from virgin rubber for snare drum practice and the other is made from our very own black rubber for timpani practice. This pad offers the versatility of the Combipad but with a lighter frame for ease of transport.

There is no other product like this one on the market; designed to be carried easily in luggage, the Slimpad enables practice on the move.

The Nanopad

The practice pad that fits in your pocket! The Nanopad is our smallest ever pad. It is designed to be carried around easily and is perfect for warmups and precision work.

Its measures 60mm in diameter and 25mm in height with a playing surface of 50mm in diameter. It weighs 0.4kg allowing stability and preventing movement when practising.

The Nanopad is highly addictive; precision is paramount with this pad in order to hit the playing surface accurately. Although the Nanopad is useful for any percussionist, it is ideal for students that are looking to improve their accuracy, or for professionals who are obsessed with precision work.
