Frank was born in 1985, and began percussion lessons at the age of 5. During his childhood, he played in several wind orchestras and the youth percussion ensemble of Baden-Württemberg (Germany).
He started his studies in 2006 at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne with Prof. Carlos Tarcha and finisched them at the University of Music ‘Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin with Prof. Rainer Seegers, Prof. Franz Schindlbeck and Prof. Li Biao.
His first professional experiences were as an intern (Praktikant) in the Symphony Orchestra of Aachen.
In 2010 he became a member of the Karajan-Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic where he had the chance to play and go on tour with the orchestra.
In 2011 he became Assistant Solo Timpanist of the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra. Since the 2018/2019 season, he has been the Solo Timpanist of the Dortmunder Philharmonic.
During his career he played with several orchestras in Germany including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Radio Symphony Orchestras of Cologne (WDR Sinfonieorchester and WDR Funkhausorchester), the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Hannover (NDR Radiophilharmonie), Dresden Philharmonic (Dresdner Philharmonie), Hannover State Opera, Opera Cologne, Bremen Philharmonic and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra.
