Vincent Vogel

Berliner Philharmoniker

Vincent Vogel was born in Vienna into a family of musicians and received important musical influences from an early age. At the age of eight, he was admitted to the Vienna Conservatory as a pre-college percussion student. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

He gained formative orchestral experience with the Bundesjugendorchester (German Federal Youth Orchestra), the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra, and the Hungarian-Austrian Haydn Philharmonic under the direction of Adam Fischer. He continued his studies at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin with Rainer Seegers, Franz Schindlbeck, and Li Biao.

Following engagements with various orchestras, he was admitted to the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic in 2017. From 2019 to 2022, he served as Principal Timpanist of the Staatskapelle Halle, before taking up the position of Principal Timpanist with the Berlin Philharmonic in 2022.

Alongside his orchestral career, he has a particular interest in solo performance and chamber music. He is also active as a composer and is committed to sharing musical knowledge through his ongoing teaching and lecturing activities.

Through his artistic work, he combines the highest level of orchestral precision with a curiosity for new forms of expression and the diverse possibilities of percussion.
